McCarthy Stone are recruiting for a Colleague Change Manager to join the Colleague Strategy Team. 

Salary: Circa £50k per annum plus benefits, bonus and company car or car allowance

Hours: 37.5 per week 

Primary Job Purpose

With over 1,700 colleagues working nationwide across developments and head office locations, it is an exciting time to join the team as a Colleague Change Manager. Our colleagues are best placed to deliver the best possible service to our customers in the creation of vibrant communities, promoting customer satisfaction and delivering business success.

We have ambitious plans to transform our colleague proposition to deliver our key colleague change workstreams, collaborating across the business to ensure alignment, communication and ensuring our business benefits are realised and positive changes are embedded.

You will work closely with the project sponsor and members of the senior leadership team as part of this role and opportunities will be provided not just to utilise your skills, but for them to be honed and expanded too.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of change workstreams across the Your McCarthy Stone colleague programme
  • Support, advise and lead on broader employee engagement and culture change / change management activities for business-as-usual requirements as / when required
  • Lead the formulation and transition of Your McCarthy Stone colleague plans, ensuring business readiness for the relevant functions and stakeholders.
  • Create and/or direct Your McCarthy Stone colleague change activity related communications, engagement and stakeholder strategy
  • Provide assurance and overview of the benefits realisation plan for key workstreams including the design, implementation and reporting on key metrics
  • Create and implement stakeholder strategies and lead the influencing to internal and external stakeholders of the agenda for change, setting realistic expectations on both the benefits and drawbacks of specific changes.
  • Identify and evaluate future ideas/suggestions from the business and to collaborate with colleagues from Transformation to develop business change / ideas for improvement  
  • Regularly attend and contribute to Colleague Strategy steering group, providing key business updates and progress vs plan on workstream
  • Support the business sponsor at appropriate governance forums ensuring that relevant information is available to support decision making related to business change activity as well as for executive level reporting as required.
  • Engage with colleague development team, operations excellence and Group HR functions to support training and knowledge needs analysis and provide insight to support delivery of this training.
  • Take responsibility for personal and professional development

Person Specification / Key Attributes

Essential

  • Experience of delivering project / business change within a customer/colleague centric organisation
  • Experience in proactive stakeholder management, up to and including at Executive level
  • Experience in designing and delivering communications strategies in the delivery of project / business change to a variety of audiences
  • Results orientation, with a passion for delivery.
  • Effective people skills and an ability to use influence to gain buy in to enable change to happen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate, develop and maintain strong relationships across
  • An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Knowledge / experience of working within a nationwide and matrix organisation
  • High degree of emotional intelligence
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality due to subject matter and interfaces across the business

Desirable

  • Experience of working across business functions to deliver £multi-million business benefits.
  • Understanding of change management methodology and how people experience change and the methods to support them in adopting change
  • Experience of leading and supporting colleagues in a change resistant and complex business environment.
  • Knowledge of the retirement living sector
